Net Neutrality : The FCC won’t let me be…

by Christopher Prince Boucher

So the FCC won’t let me be
Or let me be me so let me see
They tried to shut me down on MTV
But it feels so empty without me

Mediashift inspired.

So basically the FCC is allowing ISP’s (Internet Service Providers) to control your bandwidth.  Pay what you see.  Is that free? NO!

Please review the rules of Net-Neutrality here.

I have been reading articles around the web from “accredited” sources saying that the EU is going this way, however that seems like a masked-mirror to me.  In fact, large corporations like “Google” do not have the public’s interest.  I love Google and its products, but I guess now it is a love/hate relationship.  If you were the #1 company in the world, would you fail for the public’s sake.  I guess I would, but most likely 95%+ would not.

These regulations make it impossible for a startup to compete with the big dogs, hence why Google loves these rules.  Eventually these regulations with raise the price of the internet, thus deteriorating the quality of service, limit customer choice, and destroy competition.

The only problem I see is that no one knows what to do!  How do we stop this?  How do the people take this into their own hand.  Everyone is writing about it, but no one is really doing anything.  I guess writing is the first step, but what is the plan of action?

Please fill me in!
