Authenticity 3.0

by Christopher Prince Boucher

Anything you build on a large scale or with intense passion invites chaos.

Recently the sudden barrage of spammers has caught on to the Social Networking world.  These fly-by-night MLMschemes are infiltrating the system.  How are users supposed to disseminate this load of filth we traditionally call “Advertising & Promotion”?

Where is the authenticity?  Does our culture even know the word?  I do not think so.

In all forms of conversations, I have been informed by “famous/successful/rich” to “fake it till you make it”.  What kind if advice is that?  I always seem to just smile and nod at this dinosaur way of thinking.  I’m on my 3rd year in my 5 year plan and things are moving just grand.

My ROI will be sustainable, while my portfolio will be diverse.  I’ll share the stats after year 5 :)

So getting back to my point, you don’t really hear too much about these future mavens because they only attract who they want to attract. Some great examples are Phish, Radiohead, Zappos, Bonobos, & Gary Vaynerchuk

Now how did these companies do it? Here are the simple rules:

1. Conversations

2. Transparency

3. Learn, Listen, & Observe

4. Passion & Care for clients

These agencies post about their promotions on Twitter, as well as Facebook, and practice cross-promotion between their main sites and various social media sites. They continually keep their social media campaign interesting for their audience, they incorporate video that encompasses their brand’s personality and most importantly, they have fun with it.
